As per Note 4 on page , when a service other than an assessment is rendered by an Emergency Department Physician, this premium is applicable for the visit. H112 is specifically for services rendered at night, between 00:00h and 08:00h.
When to Use
- Use H112 when performing a procedure such as a simple laceration repair (e.g., G372) or foreign body removal (e.g., Z400) in the ED between 00:00 and 08:00.
- Apply this premium when providing a minor service that does not qualify for an assessment code (H101, H102) during the designated night hours.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing H112 alongside an assessment code like H101 or H102 will result in an automatic rejection due to mutual exclusivity.
- Claiming H112 for services rendered outside the 00:00 to 08:00 window, which instead requires the use of H113 or H114.
