Celiac tissue Transglutaminase Immunoglobulin A (tTG-IgA). Listed under 2.2 Biochemistry in the Schedule of Benefits for Laboratory Services (effective April 1, 2026). [Essential Specifications 21.1] Two tests are insured for the diagnosis of celiac disease: L570 Celiac tTG-IgA and L571 Celiac serum IgA. L570 Celiac tTG-IgA and L571 Celiac serum IgA are only insured for patients that meet the following criteria: a. Over 2 years of age; b. On a gluten containing diet. L571 Celiac serum IgA should only be claimed when medically necessary to confirm if a patient is IgA deficient. L571 is not insured unless L570 Celiac tTG-IgA is billed for the same patient on the same service. When L571 Celiac serum IgA is billed, L550 (Single gel diffusion and nephelometric quantitative assays) should also be billed for the service. L550 is not insured as part of celiac testing unless L570 Celiac …
