This service covers the surgical insertion of a feeding enterostomy. The fee is for the procedure when performed as the primary operation. If the feeding enterostomy is inserted at the time of another intra-abdominal procedure, fee code E737 should be claimed as an add-on fee instead. This procedure is eligible for surgeon (<suffix>A</suffix>), assistant (<suffix>B</suffix>), and anaesthesia (<suffix>C</suffix>) services with specific base units.
