Intracavitary application of radium or sealed sources is a form of brachytherapy. X323 is claimed for the first application of this treatment. The fee for this service includes any dilatation and curettage if carried out at the same time as application. Subsequent or repeat applications should be claimed using X334.
When to Use
- Use X323 for the initial insertion of a radioactive source into a body cavity for brachytherapy treatment.
- Use X323 when a dilatation and curettage (D&C) is performed as an integral part of the initial brachytherapy application procedure.
