C999 – Special visit premium - Nights (00:00h - 07:00h), first patient seen

A special visit premium payable to surgical assistants or anaesthesiologists for the first patient seen during a non-elective special visit occurring at night (00:00h to 07:00h). The physician must travel from one location to another to provide the service.
The visit must be initiated by the patient or an individual on behalf of the patient for the purpose of rendering a non-elective service.
For suffix C (Anaesthesia), the premium is only eligible when the anaesthesiologist is required to travel to the hospital to administer anaesthetic for a case that commences between 00:00h and 07:00h.
Usage limits
Eligible for payment only for the first patient seen on each special visit. There is no maximum number of claims per time period for C999.
Sacrifice of office hours rules do not apply to the night premium as it falls outside standard office hours.
