R076 – Defect more than 10 cm average diameter - face, neck or scalp

R076 is a rotation, transposition or Z-plasty skin flap for a defect more than 10 cm in average diameter on the face, neck or scalp (Skin Flaps, B. Rotations, transpositions, Z-plasties; -). The service includes undermining, which will depend on the site and size. For other areas, see R074. Under the preamble to skin flaps and grafts, the amount payable depends on the size and location of the area grafted and the type of graft, and additional procedures other than the skin flap or graft (e.g. tendon grafts, inlay grafts) are payable in addition. When excision of a benign, pre-malignant or malignant skin lesion is closed by rotation, transposition or Z-plasty, the Repair section benefit is claimed instead of the excision benefit. E540 (add 25%) is payable once per lesion for excision in hospital for tumour free margin with frozen section, to the first flap or graft procedure ().
