A femoro-anterior/posterior tibial/peroneal bypass graft using a prosthetic graft. As per the note on , this procedure includes payment for an endarterectomy if performed concurrently. Payment for a surgeon (suffix A), assistant (suffix B), and anaesthetist (suffix C) are governed by the rules in the Schedule of Benefits. The assistant fee (suffix B) is calculated with 10 base units plus time units, and the anaesthetist fee (suffix C) is calculated with 10 base units plus time units. This procedure cannot be billed on the same day for the same patient as R878.
When to Use
- Use R780 when performing a bypass graft from the femoral artery to the anterior tibial, posterior tibial, or peroneal artery using a prosthetic graft material.
- Use this code when the procedure includes a concurrent endarterectomy, as the fee for the endarterectomy is considered inclusive to R780.
