A travel premium for a non-elective special visit to a patient's home (other than a long-term care institution), for visits that commence between 00:00 and 07:00 on any day. Fee $37.40 (no max. per time period). Schedule of Benefits Special Visit Premium Table VI, Patient's Home (not long-term care) (). The time the special visit takes place must be documented in the medical record (). B960 and B990 maximums per physician per day count non-elective and elective visits together. Not payable with A007 or A001 rendered in the home. Bill with the appropriate A-prefix assessment from the General Listings.
The visit must be a 'special visit' (initiated by the patient or an individual on behalf of the patient for a non-elective service).
The service must be commenced between 00:00 and 07:00 (Monday through Friday).
Travel must be from one location to another location (the destination).
Usage limits
No maximum per time period (unlike daytime or evening travel premiums).
A multiple resident dwelling (e.g., apartment, retirement home, group home) is considered a single destination; only one travel premium is payable for the first patient seen at that location.
Travel premiums are only eligible when rendered with certain services listed under 'Consultations and Visits' and 'Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures'.
