A premium for the first person seen during a non-elective special visit to a patient's home (other than a long-term care institution), for visits that commence on a Saturday, Sunday or holiday between 07:00 and 24:00. Fee $84.80 (max. 20 (total of first and additional person seen) per time period). Schedule of Benefits Special Visit Premium Table VI, Patient's Home (not long-term care) (). The time the special visit takes place must be documented in the medical record (). B960 and B990 maximums per physician per day count non-elective and elective visits together. Not payable with A007 or A001 rendered in the home. Bill with the appropriate A-prefix assessment from the General Listings.

The visit must be initiated by the patient or an individual on behalf of the patient.
Sacrifice of office hours must be justified (unscheduled non-elective visit causing delay/cancellation of booked appointments).
Usage limits
Maximum of 20 per time period (per physician per day).
A multiple resident dwelling (e.g., apartment, retirement home, hostel) is considered a single destination; only one 'first person seen' premium is payable regardless of the number of units visited.
Special visit premiums are not eligible for elective services in long-term care institutions even if it is the patient's home.
