G475
G475 – Cystometrogram and/or voiding pressure studies and/or flow rate with or without postural studies and/or urethral pressure profile including interpretation
OHIP Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures Code — DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES · Schedule of Benefits
Cystometrogram and/or voiding pressure studies and/or flow rate with or without postural studies and/or urethral pressure profile including interpretation.
When to Use
- Use G475 when performing a formal cystometrogram to investigate detrusor overactivity or stress urinary incontinence.
- Use G475 for uroflowmetry studies when assessing patients for bladder outlet obstruction or voiding dysfunction.
- Use G475 when conducting a urethral pressure profile to evaluate intrinsic sphincter deficiency.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing G900 (residual urine by ultrasound) alongside G475 is a common rejection if the G475 service included cystometrogram or voiding pressure studies.
- Attempting to bill G475 in conjunction with pelvic or intracavity ultrasound codes (G192-G194) will trigger automatic payment denials.
- Failing to document the interpretation of the study, which is a mandatory component of the G475 fee.
Billing Tips
- You may only claim G900 in addition to G475 if the G475 service was strictly limited to uroflow studies (flow rate with or without postural studies).
- Ensure the referral source is clearly documented, as G475 requires a referral from a physician or nurse practitioner per GP16:30.
