S650 is for a simple retropubic prostatectomy, performed with or without the removal of bladder stones.

• This procedure includes a vasectomy when one is rendered.
• This procedure does not include an investigative cystoscopy.
This is a surgical procedure and is eligible for surgeon (A), assistant (B), and anaesthetist (C) fees. The fees for the assistant and anaesthetist are calculated based on a combination of base units and time units.
This procedure can be performed laparoscopically, in which case the add-on code E792 is applicable, increasing the surgical fee by 25%.
