The fee for this service includes the costs and work associated with treatment planning, dosage calculation, and the preparation of all materials. As per the note on page , appropriate visit and procedural benefits may be claimed in addition to X332.
When to Use
- Use X332 when performing intra-articular radioisotope synovectomy for chronic inflammatory arthritis unresponsive to conventional therapy.
- Apply this code for the therapeutic administration of non-sealed radioisotopes to treat synovial hypertrophy in single or multiple joints during a single session.
Common Pitfalls
- Do not bill X332 for diagnostic imaging or standard joint injections; it is strictly for radioisotope therapy involving non-sealed sources.
- Avoid billing X332 in conjunction with other radiation oncology codes like X326 or X327 for the same site, as this constitutes unbundling of the treatment planning and preparation work already included in the X332 fee.
