G592 – Administration of intranasal influenza vaccine

The service of administering an intranasal influenza vaccine to a patient. This is an add-on code, indicated by the + symbol in the Schedule of Benefits, and is intended to be billed in addition to an appropriate assessment. If the immunization is the sole reason for the visit, the service fee G700 should be added, which is payable once per patient per day. The immunization service may not be insured under certain conditions as per Regulation 552.
When to Use
- Use G592 in conjunction with an assessment code (e.g., A007) when the intranasal influenza vaccine is administered during a visit for a separate clinical issue.
- Use G592 in combination with G700 when the patient presents exclusively for the intranasal influenza vaccination and no other assessment or consultation is billed.
