When to Use
- Use E144 for the surgical removal of a previously implanted intraocular lens when no replacement lens is implanted during the same operative session.
- Use this code for the explantation of a dislocated or malpositioned intraocular lens that cannot be repositioned or exchanged.

- Billing E144 in conjunction with E003C for anaesthesia services will result in a rejection, as these are explicitly restricted.
