S759 – Hysterectomy with anterior or posterior vaginal repair

Hysterectomy, with or without adnexa (unless otherwise specified), combined with an anterior or posterior vaginal repair. This procedure also includes enterocoele and/or vault prolapse repair when rendered.
When to Use
- Use S759 when performing a hysterectomy in conjunction with an anterior or posterior colporrhaphy for pelvic organ prolapse.
- This code is the correct choice when the procedure includes the repair of an enterocoele or vault prolapse alongside the hysterectomy and vaginal wall repair.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing S759 with S760 (anterior/posterior repair) or S722 (enterocoele repair) will result in a rejection, as these are considered inclusive to S759.
- Attempting to claim additional fees for vault prolapse repair is a common audit risk, as this is explicitly included in the S759 fee structure.
Billing Tips
- Always append the E862 premium to S759 if the hysterectomy is performed laparoscopically or with laparoscopic assistance to capture the 25% fee increase.
- If performing an oophorectomy for moderate or severe endometriosis, ensure E090 is claimed as a separate line item to receive the additional flat fee.
